Langdon Lake Association Members:
The Langdon Lake Association Board of Directors met with representatives from East Umatilla Fire & Rescue (“EUFR”) to obtain information on a grant program administered by EUFR that helps reduce forest fire fuel sources to create defensible space around improvements and reduce the risk of large-scale forest fires. The service is free to LLA cabin owners and includes brush and grass cutting, tree limbing up to 8 feet, and removal of small trees under 6 inches in diameter (provided the tree poses no potential threat of hitting a structure). The grant program is subject to limited funding available to EUFR until December but subject to being fully exhausted sooner depending on the number of service requests received and performed by EUFR. LLA cabin owners with interest in scheduling a cabin site inspection survey with EUFR are encouraged to contact EUFR representative Colby Hanses at (509) 492-1479 or colby.hanses@eufr.org, or cabin owners can call the EUFR station at (541) 566-2311.
