If you were at the lake this past weekend, you noticed the freshly dug ditches on the NE side of the lake and by the main entrance. As was planned, UEC (Umatilla Electric Co-op) is in the process of burying all the main power lines, thus the reason for the mess.

I was approached with a lot of questions regarding estimated time for ditches to be covered and roads re-graveled or green areas reseeded. I spoke with the excavation project manager about this today. He said they will fill in ditches and re-gravel areas as soon as possible. Re-seeding green spots would happen after the entire project is completed. He realizes that there is a short window for any excavation at Tollgate...especially late in the summer. So he is racing against the clock to get everything done. Your patience is appreciated.

Another question was in regards to cost for the cabin owner to get underground power installed from a cabin site to the new underground power main line. There is no price per foot data on this. I was told by UEC contact person Nancy Lang that there are too many variables to give a flat rate cost. These variables include whether your meter base needs updated, whether you will need conduit in the ditch, whether you will have 200 AMP wire or Class 320 wire installed, what type of digging is involved...rocky or dirt, etc. etc. The other thought mentioned by Nancy was the fact that the entire project for burying the main power needs to be completed before cabin feeder lines are hooked in. It might be best to wait until Spring 2017 before cabin owners begin their own underground power install

Further questions on this can be answered by Nancy Lang. Her number is 541-564-4367

Finally one last question asked was whether there will be any underground power installed on the North side of the lake by Hwy 204. The answer is yes. From what I understand, that is the final phase for underground power install at Langdon Lake.

As I said, these folks are racing against the clock with their excavation and power install. They are doing their best to make everyone happy and not break a septic or water line in the process. They are estimating that everything should be finished by late September if all goes well.

Let me know if any questions.

Vandalism/Theft by Langdon Lake 8/18/2016
It has come to my attention that various cabins were broke into within a close vicinity of the lake. Dates that this likely took place were around August 14th and 15th. Items were stolen and cabins were left vandalized and trashed. The Umatilla Sherriff's Dept. has been notified and investigations are taking place.

One vehicle of interest is an older Chevy Cavalier car. Color is green with white hood. If you see this vehicle, please report it to the Sherriff.

Of course, always be on the lookout around the lake for people who don't belong. Don't be afraid to confront visitors and see why they are at the lake. Or feel free to call me and give a description of their vehicle/appearance.

With the Fourth of July weekend upon us, a reminder to Langdon Lake homeowners that fireworks of any kind are not allowed at any location on Langdon Lake property. The Association instituted a policy on March 5, 2007, which states, "A fine of $500.00 will be assessed to any homeowner or guest caught using fireworks of any kind on homesite property, common areas, reserved areas or over the Lake at any time." This is for the protection of homeowners as well as Langdon Lake property and the surrounding forest.

Please enjoy your time at Langdon Lake this weekend and have a Happy and Safe 4th of July!

We have had quite a few warm days at the lake this past week which has caused the deeper drifts to melt quickly on the back roads. As of today (May 2nd) I was able to drive my vehicle to the last cabin on the South side of the lake. All north side cabins are accessible too.

The fish are on their way! We are expecting to receive over 1100 healthy rainbow trout a by the end of May or sooner. Once the lake level stabilizes, we will have it stocked.

Main security gate is up and running. Please close it on your way in AND out. It does not close behind you. If you need an additional remote or forgot the gate code, contact me.

As most are aware, we had quite a winter last season. There are quite a few yards with debris from past storms...a few cabins have downed trees and limbs. The burn pile is now open and ready for said materials. Please do not dump construction material, boxes, or trash at the burn site. Also, please dump only bagged trash at the garbage bins. There is limited space and not enough room for old lawn chairs, giant TV's, old carpet, toilets, kid's toys, etc. These larger items should go home with you.

Let me know if you have any questions.
