Dear Members

This is an update on an issue discussed at the annual association meeting:

Lake water - the board voted not to treat the lake at this time, but will have the chemicals ready to apply as soon as the water temperatures are high enough next spring.
Jerry was pretty sure the water temperature has to stay above 60 degrees for the microbes to stay active. Jerry and I checked the temperature by the dock Monday and it was 65 degrees and that was at 24 inches.

Jerry also took a water sample to the lab in Pendleton, and after they had it for two days they informed Janet that they do not do algae samples. They did give us a name and location of a lab to send it to. We will get that new sample and send it ASAP.

On a side note we have had two different groups from our cabin swimming in the lake the last three weeks and have had NO reports of anyone getting sick or having skin rashes.
So if you want to wait until we send off and receive results from a second sampling before you use the lake that might be safer.
